Whether you have a bad day, a bad, week, month, even a year. You can always start again. In order to have a successful restart it is important to reign in our irrational side and allow the rational side to be the guide, so how do we do that?
We do it by having a a Brain Dump:
A Brain Dump is simply a way for you to get everything out of your head and onto paper.
Executing a Brain dump is simple:
Take out a pen and a piece of paper or fire up a new document on your computer. Then, write down everything that comes to your mind. What you have to do, what you’re thinking about, hopes, dreams, goals, and whatever else comes into your mind.
Set a time limit for about 20-30 minutes and everything that enters your brain
Once you’re done, look at what you’ve written. Utilize this visual to take action on the items you’ve written.
The Brain Dump allows you to visually connect the dots of your thoughts.
The point is to reset your brain,
update your productivity system,
put onto paper all the things that have been taking up the valuable (and limited) space in your brain.
You will feel lighter, brighter and free to move forward and begin again.
