Here are some tips for starting resolutions any day of the year
Start small:
Life is made up of Small habits. Start by replacing one Small habit with another. If you want to learn new exercises don't commit to the entire Czerny School of Velocity book. Select at least 2 exercises you will master in the next 2 months.
Let it go:
if you're trying something again, great. Don't beat yourself up because you are trying it again. Learn from the past, prepare for the future, making yourself feel bad is definitely not going to help you stick to your guns. So last week you didn't stick to your resolve to practice more, figure out why and try again, no self-deprecation.
Be honest:
Do you really want to make this resolution? Is someone pressuring you? Your resolution may be something very good that you know you need. But if your heart is not truly committed, or you really do not want to make the change the chance of you sticking with it is very low.
Get help:
Sometimes we don't have all the tools and we need some help. Or you may have the tools but you need accountability. The most successful people in the world have and/or had coaches and accountability partners. No man is an island, getting someone in on your resolution is a great way to stay on track and make your resolution permanent.
So use these tips and get started today, tomorrow, any day with your resolutions.
