Since this is the month of Love I thought I would share my top 5 reasons why I Love being a musician.
1. Relationships
Being a musician has helped me build a lot of wonderful relationships and I have learned so much through these relationships. Musicians have this ability to connect almost instantly through our love of music. I know that the relationships I have with other musicians have helped make me the musician I am today.

2. Skills
In order to be a successful musician there's a lot of hats I need to wear, agent, legal counsel, accountant, marketing team, arranger, receptionist, web designer, mechanic, IT department, logistical engineer and sometimes event planner. I don't think I would have acquired these skills if it weren't for being a musician. Bonus! I can apply these skills anywhere.
3. Health
Being a musician makes me happy, and doing what makes me happy is not only great for my mental health, It literally keeps my brain healthy. It lowers my blood pressure, promotes better sleep and keeps my coordination sharp. (my parents my argue the coordination thing).
4. Traveling
Music has taken me all over the united states, Canada, Cleveland, Toronto, Belgium, England and more. I know I would not have traveled to these places and made the friends I have made if it weren't for music. The connections I made and what I have learned traveling are better than any souvenir I could have purchased.

5. Education
I genuinely love sharing my love of music. I especially love teaching music. My students make me laugh, and keep me on my toes. It's a privilege and reward to teach them. I not only get to teach them music but, also what music has taught me about life.
