Jane and I talk about how she keeps happiness in her art, and the challenges and freedoms in premiering new music.


British pianist Jane Beament has an international reputation as a C20th music specialist. She has had

many pieces written for her and has premiered many more. Having lived in Philadelphia (US) and

Istanbul (Turkey) Jane is now based in London where she is a Staff Accompanist at the renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has a thriving teaching practice.


Jane has a longstanding duo partnership with the Philadelphian violinist, Timothy Schwarz. The Anglo-American Duo specializes in American and British repertoire. They have performed extensively in Europe (Italy, Greece, Hungary, Austria) and throughout the UK and America. They have broadcast on Radio Libera Tutti and Vatican Radio in Italy and on WFLN (NPR) and WHFC in America. Their CD, Anthems after Prometheus’ on Albany Records, features music by David Osbon who also happens to be her husband and was acclaimed in Fanfare magazine:


The Anglo-American Duo exhibit their solid technique and imbue it with great sensitivity. Anthems After Prometheus is an excellent collection of David Osbon’s fascinating compositions played by musicians of great virtuosity’+
